Everyone is talking about the Food Truck CRAZE and rodeos are a great way to discover your favorite trucks to follow on social media!
Did you know that Durham Central Park pioneered the Triangle's original Food Truck Rodeo and continues to host it five times a year, including the only winter event in our entire area?
They're located at 501 Foster Street in downtown Durham and open to the public 24 hours, have a skate park, free community pick-your-own garden & more than 9,000+ square feet of covered event space! Food Truck Rodeos aren't the only thing they do! Covering more than 5 acres, they also have 3 additional gardens, a central lawn, a very unique interactive children's play area & they're a strong advocate for other local cultural activities including Durham's weekly Farmers Market. If you've never attended a Food Truck Rodeo before, be prepared to be delighted! It's like a food court at the mall, but with much better food and an outside opportunity to people watch! The event takes place rain or shine, and Duke University's very own WXDU 88.7 FM will be presenting the entertainment to get us dancing in the park this weekend! Admission is free, you just simply pay for what you eat or drink. The trucks do pay a fee and these rodeos help raise the funds to cover operation costs and upkeep of the park!
This Sunday, January 22, kicks off 2017's first rodeo from 12 - 4 PM. For all ages, and for all foodies alike, they'll have more than 50 trucks, including Shark Tank's very own Cousins Maine Lobster truck! If you love local craft beer, you'll find many great vendors to choose from!
